The Smoky Hill Museum is a nationally accredited history museum located at 8th and Iron in downtown Salina, Kansas. Open every

afternoon except Mondays and major holidays. On Saturdays, the museum opens early and on the first Thursday of every month, it stays open until 7 pm.



Newly renovated galleries tell the story of the Crossroads of the Heartland. Here you can run your fingers through the thick fur of a buffalo, go into a full-sized sod dugout, or be the historian at the battle of Indian Rock. Special exhibits allow for the display of some of the museum’s 24,000 artifacts.
