About Fronteras Mexican Restaurant
De la Torre had his first job at a restaurant, where he started washing dishes, as many who first arrive here. However, deep in his heart he knew it’d only be for a short time. He continued to climb with serious difficulties, always playing deaf to what his friends and superiors told him. “You’ll never reach higher positions in this restaurant.” The talk was that he was illegal, that he didn’t speak English, and that the positions he wanted, were out of his reach. However, he never let down.
Today, Salvador de la Torre is the owner of the prestigious restaurant, Fronteras. Proud of the realization of his goals, he said “My dream doesn’t end here, I’m going for more,” and he’s doing so. De la Torre continues to work as chef in the kitchen of his own business; he inspects all the dishes and teaches his employees to give their best in terms of quality and service.
Our restaurant has received recognition from the Governor of the State of Kansas. “as the best of the best” (KC Star)
