A little about Walnut
Walnut features one of the finest collections of antique dealers in the Midwest. Come visit and see why we are known as Iowa's Antique City.
The history of Walnut
Originally known as Walnut Creek Station, the town of Walnut was incorporated in 1871. Walnut has gwon and evolved over the time since servicing the agricultural land that surrounds it to becoming the official Iowa “Antique City†by the governor in 1987. Much of the original architecture and brick paved streets still exist in Walnut and visitors can visit the dozens of antique shops, boutiques and restaurants. Walnut has been featured in national broadcasts and is known for its nationally attended antique shows. As a small community, Walnut treasures every visitor and does whatever it can to make their stay in Walnut a special one.
