About Alexander's Blind and Drapery
Started in 1985 by Alex & Janet Alexander what began as a work from home business quickly moved to a commercial location on the North Belt Highway in St. Joseph, MO in just under 2 years. It quickly grew from residential only customers to residential AND commercial businesses in the Northwest Missouri area and even parts of Kansas, Iowa, and Nebraska! Started off selling Hunter Douglas products and Lafayette Venetian Blinds products business quickly grew and blossomed over the years.
In 1997 an electrical fire broke out in one of the neighboring businesses. It quickly spread throughout the building and destroyed the complex. Of course a fire is not the greatest friend to Blinds and Draperies and many different products were lost as a result of the fire. The decision was made to move to the Anderson Ford Plaza and set up shop next to the other great places such as Cicis Pizza. The shop was set back up where it has been standing strong and still able to serve the St. Joseph community.
