Jack and June Bower along with son, Jeff, started with the challenge on how to help invigorate downtown Atchison retail. In 2001 we opened the store WOW ONLY $1.00 in a vacated Stage store. Our unique proposition was to overwhelm our customers with incredible values. We adopted the theme, “Paying Less Feels Great”
When at market, we found so many incredible values that we decided to open another store in Downtown Atchison and called it Amazing Deals. The store was an immediate hit. We sold general merchandise, furniture, gifts home décor, toys and more. In 2004 we had the opportunity to purchase a vacated JC Penney store. We then consolidated both operations into this 18000 sq foot store. We evolved into a furniture leader in our market. Ten years after the consolidation, the benefits of our operation can be seen in our community.
